Limit orders: take profit and stop loss on Elysium
In the Limit tab you can set three kinds of orders by market cap:
- Take profit — sell a percentage when the market cap rises to your target.
- Stop loss — sell when the market cap falls to your target.
- Limit buy — buy when the market cap reaches your target, below or above the current one.
Where your orders live
On Elysium the orders run in your browser: they are saved in this device and the terminal watches the price for you. When your condition is met, it signs the trade with your wallet, exactly like a normal buy or sell, and charges the same 1% fee (0.9% with a referrer).
- Nothing is deposited anywhere. Your HYPE and your tokens stay in your wallet until the order fills.
- They run while the terminal is open, in one tab at a time (several tabs never fill the same order twice).
- You can cancel at any moment, and selling everything by hand cancels that token's take profit and stop loss on its own.
- Order slippage is 5% by default and you can change it in the Limit tab before placing the order.
If you close the terminal, the order waits: it does not fill until you open it again. An on-chain order contract, which would fill with the terminal closed, is not deployed on Elysium yet.
How the price is checked
- The market cap comes from the token's own pool or curve, read from the chain, the same number the chart shows.
- When the condition is met the terminal quotes the trade and sends it with your slippage, so a moved price can't fill you far below what you accepted.
- A stop loss works as a stop-limit: it tries to sell when the price crosses your stop, but never below your slippage floor.
